Eric Clapton Crossroads ES-335 This is quite the memorable instrument, a pre-owned Gibson Custom Shop Eric Clapton Crossroads ES-335, an exact replica of the instrument that Clapton wielded during his days with Rock and Roll powerhouse Cream. The original guitar set records when it sold for a staggering $847,500 at auction in 2004, and it was examined down to each and every ding by the Gibson Custom Shop in 2005 to build only 250 replica instruments. The guitar is built with an aged Cherry finish on a maple body with a solid maple center block, slim taper mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard and 22 frets, 24-3/4 scale length, two custom Burstbucker humbuckers wound specifically for this guitar acording to Mr Claptons specs, ABR-1 bridge with stopbar tailpiece, and Grover tuners. Features true to the original 335 that we really love are the Hare Krishna sticker on the back of the headstock which was given to Clapton by George Harrison, along with the original serial number of 67473 stamped into the headstock. This guitar is #24 out of the run of 250 instruments(175 in the US and 75 for the foriegn markets), with the insert label in the F-hole signed by Clapton himself. This guitar has been kept in collectors condition, with no extraneous markings or dings made by prior play time. It''s not only a fantastic collectors piece, but an excellent playing ES-335 with timeless looks and a great story to tell.
